About the Teachers

Sharon Davis (Great Britain) & Eran Tobi (Israel/Germany)

Sharon Davis is a professional dancer, specialising in Lindy Hop, Swing, Charleston, Jazz, Burlesque and other authentic dances from the 1920s, 30s and 40s.  Australian born, Sharon is now based in London, and travels the world throughout the year performing and teaching her dance. She holds numerous 1st place titles at the most prestigious championships around the world, including the International Lindy Hop Championships, Ultimate Lindy Hop Showdown, National Jitterbug Championships, Canadian Swing Championships, Burlesque Hall of Fame and World Burlesque Games. She has choreographed for stage shows, short film and music videos on four continents. She is the Director of the European Swing Dance Championships.

Sharon studied Lindy Hop and other swing styles with the dance’s original creators, including legends Frankie Manning, Norma Miller, Mabel Lee, Dawn Hampton, Sugar Sullivan, Sonny Allen, Jean Veloz and Ray Phelps. She is known as a dedicated historian of African American vernacular jazz dance and is often asked to give lectures and presentations on the topic. Keeping this dance form, its history, spirit and the memory of its creators alive is Sharon’s greatest passion.

After discovering Swing in 2007, Eran Tobi spent almost all of his time to travel, dance and spread the spirit of Lindy Hop Balboa & co. in Israel. He is one of the co-founder of Holy Lindy Land - one of the most successful swing dance schools of our time. His passion for the dance and teaching it lead him in 2013 to Berlin, from where he could expend his love for the dance onto the world. Eran has won multiple competitions in Lindy Hop, Balboa and Blues at different events, e.g. at the International Lindy Hop Championships, Lindy On The Rocks, Berlin Blues Explosion, Camp Hollywood and the European Swing Dance Championships.

Hyunjung Choi (South Korea) & Nicolas Deniau (France)

Hyunjung Choi is a swing dancer, instructor and choreographer who currently leads the swing dance performance team Night and Day. Having majored in Korean traditional dance and enjoyed various dances such as dance sport and ballet, she came across swing dance in 2005, and instantly became fascinated by the dance.

In 2006, she met her partner Soochan Lee. Since then, they have been teaching various lindy hop classes with new ideas, aiming for the growth of Korean swing dance scene. Starting with taking the first place at the 2009 Korea Swing Festival, they participated in various competitions in US since 2010. As a result, they strengthened their partnership and placed in various competitions including the first place in Open Strictly of 2012 Camp Hollywood and second place in All-Star Strictly of 2013 International Lindy Hop Championship.

She is a passionate dancer who strives to better express herself, and her delightful dancing gives positive energy to everyone who watches her dance.

Nicolas Deniau attended his first Rock'n'Roll dance class at the age of 8 and after only one year of dancing he took part in his first competition. This was the start of a long competition career in Rock'n'Roll and Boogie Woogie. He was early drawn to the show aspect of the dance which you can still see in his dancing!
Nicolas has been teaching at many camps around the world as well as performing at various shows and has been placed in well-known competitions. He also organizes one of the biggest Lindy Hop championship events in Europe - Savoy Cup.
