SATURDAY NIGHT SOCIAL DANCE

Saturday, November 22nd:

The Saturday Night social dance will be the BLAST of the weekender! We will have a fabulous band - The Big Five aus Berlin - to make you dance the night away!

So put on your nicest suits and dresses, people, and let's dance!

EN: Inspired by the wild hot sounds of 1930s/40s Harlem and Chicago jazz, The Big Five have established themselves as Berlin’s most authentic swing-era combo. Combining a driving rhythm section, a fiery horn-led frontline and dynamic song-arrangements, this international band makes a deep-dive into the lesser-known repertoire of the Swing Golden Age - as well as a strong emphasis on original compositions. Ranging in size from the core quintet to the full septet lineup.

The Big Five are veterans of Berlin’s famed Lindy-hop and Balboa dance-halls and know how to turn a mild-mannered dance party into a raging frenzy of swing-outs. With their sharp attire and an intense passion for authentic swing-era jazz, these cats will certainly make you Jump for Joy!

DE: Inspiriert von den wilden, heißen Klängen des Jazz aus den 1930er/40er Jahren in Harlem und Chicago haben sich The Big Five als authentischste Swing-Combo Berlins etabliert. Mit einer treibenden Rhythmusgruppe, einer feurigen Horn-Frontline und dynamischen Song-Arrangements taucht diese internationale Band tief in das weniger bekannte Repertoire des goldenen Swing-Zeitalters ein - sowie einem starken Schwerpunkt auf Originalkompositionen. Die Band reicht von der Kerngruppe als Quintett bis zur vollen Besetzung als Septett.

The Big Five sind Veteranen der berühmten Lindy-Hop und Balboa Tanzsäle Berlins und wissen, wie sie eine gemäßigte Tanzparty in ein wogendes Feuerwerk von Swing-Outs verwandeln können. Mit ihrem gepflegten Erscheinungsbild und einer intensiven Leidenschaft für authentischen Jazz aus der Swing-Ära werden diese Musiker Sie sicherlich vor Freude springen lassen!

FAREWELL SOCIAL DANCE

Sunday, November 23rd:

All good things come to an end... so we close the inspiring and moving weekend with a little farewell dance. Let's enjoy the last dance for the weekend... the last hug...the last smile before leaving and heading home to daily life :)
